Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe?

Really?

Especially since DC characters include The Joker, Lex Luthor, and Catwoman. I wasn't aware that they had any notable fighting skills.

No, not literally.

I don't know if I would say it is my favorite Olympic sport, but I certainly do appreciate the aesthetics of men's 10 m platform diving. However, I don't appreciate the announcer saying that one of the divers "literally fell apart" in the preliminaries. If he did literally fall apart, I'd hope you'd show a little more concern than that.
It's a fairly simple word; I don't think it's too much to ask to use it correctly on national television.

What is going on with ads?

Myspace and Facebook ads are getting pretty ridiculous. For example...

Oh, but it gets better...

New York? Birth control weather? Huh?

Carbon Footprints Running Wild

I have done almost nothing today at work. Now it's almost three. Might as well continue the trend.

I found this product after a less-than-delightful discussion about chocolate-covered Nutter Butters (which I refuse to accept as real).

Now this product... I probably would have thought it was an awesome idea if I wasn't so annoyed with this "GO GREEN" craze. Yet, I am. It all feels like a sales ploy.
"The wrappers have printed on them 15 tips to reduce your carbon footprint on the world, and in addition have included in their sale price, enough carbon energy credits from TerraPass to offset your carbon footprint for one day."
I have probably read these 15 tips a million times before and you have no idea what my carbon footprint is. How are you getting these carbon credits? (There are less-than-awesome ways to attain carbon credits, by the way). I'm such a skeptic...

Shitping

I have decided to put "shipping stuff" on my things I hate list. It's really quite horrible.

I took off work early in order to catch the DHL guy. I even left a note that said to call me if I didn't answer the door. I got a call around 3:30, but the guy didn't even try the doorbell. Then I spent an hour unpacking what had been shipped to me.

On a different note, I think I'll buy myself something nice if I get anymore scholarship money for next year. I still won't be receiving enough to pay for all my graduate classes and living expenses, but I think I'll feel less indulgent if I say I'm using "free money". Then I'll have said nice purchase shipped to me.
